Gaga Concert 2012

It has been almost four years.  Her very first concert in Singapore was on 12 August 2009,  of which my sis was lucky to have won a pair of tickets through Power 98 FM (if i'm not wrong).

This year, I managed to buy tickets thru a friend. Phew !

What can I say about the concert ? It's good, she goddamn rock. I enjoyed it very much.  Only my friend was a bit stone after standing for 3 hours. Mind oh mind.

Did a little bit of dress-up this time. ^^

How to Open a New Book

If you can draw, and you have lots of used cardboards for substitute as canvas,  here are some real nice works by German artist EVOL that you can follow.  Save the earth too.

R I P Marice Sendak

I'm sad to hear that one of my admired book illustrator, Marice Sendak passed away yesterday. ;-(

I wholeheartedly agree with what Bobby mentioned : Death is a part of life though, so we can only honor those who touched and inspired us in our time in this world.

The New York Times has a nice piece on Maurice, his life, and his work.

“Where the Wild Things Are.”
In simple, incantatory language, the book told the story of Max, a naughty boy who rages at his mother and is sent to his room without supper. A pocket Odysseus, Max promptly sets sail: And he sailed off through night and day and in and out of weeks and almost over a year to where the wild things are. There, Max leads the creatures in a frenzied rumpus before sailing home, anger spent, to find his supper waiting.

Bugs on Book Covers

Very much delighted to find this nice collection of bugs painted on book covers by Bristol-based artist Rose Sanderson.

One fine day, I may do the same to my old books.  For the time being, let's polish up my drawing skills.

Books Read

A brief update of my reading thus far :

Next of Kin by David Hosp
Port Mortuary by Patricia Cornwell
Before I Go To Sleep by S.J.Watson

Now I am looking for another thriller.  Before that, I got myself an old paperback (dated 1964), Assassination! by John Cottrell, about the murder of US President John F Kennedy, just for passing time.

Make My Day

It feels good to have someone cooks a delicious meal for me. Even if it tastes a little bit salty, may be a tiny bit oily, yeah, what the hell.  It is the effort that counts.
