Beef Noodles

My boy's first visit to Nam Nam Vietnamese Noodle Bar @Plaza Singapore despite it has been here for many years, knowing full well that the portion is definitely not enough for his super 'expandible' stomach.  Sure enough, he later bought a pack of cheesy meat balls for the movie show.

Went out to have a bowl of mixed beef kway teow with tendon from Hock Lam Beef @ARC, before it's officual closure on Jul 11.

The Road to Avengers : Infinity War & Manga

Recently bought this artbook from amazonjp for my boy. The hardcover slipcase is in full colour whereas the cover itself is in duotone which I really like.

Leader Shit : Super Kim

Found him yesterday. Yay!

With Captain Trump that I bought two months ago, they make a perfect pair.

Books Read

Brought this book - Begging To Die (Katie Maguire #10) by Graham Masterson - to Japan but didn't manage to finish it. Don't get me wrong, the thriller is fantastic, I was just too exhausted during the trip, and the mood was simply not for some nasty and horrific cases. Imagine someone gonna kill you by drilling a hole into your skull .....

A long Night In Paris by Dov Alfon was the second book I finished last week. A spy thriller full of insider knowledge on the bureaucracy of the Israeli Intelligence community. It all started when an Israeli was murdered in Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, setting in motion with the main three parties involved : French, Israel and Macau (China), with some meddling from the US.  All things happened in little more than 24 hours. In the end, leaving you thinking who is spying on who? what is true and what is not?

A passage that I like and somehow resonate with what is happening :
The governing body was under the control of a fresh-eating virus that used the normal immune system - the law, media, military and intelligence agencies - to fool its own organs, to the extent that it had become impossible t distinguish between the healthy body and the virus.

VOX by Christina Dalcher is the latest.

Here is the book blurb :

Jean McClellan spends her time in almost complete silence, limited to just one hundred words a day. Any more, and a thousand volts of electricity will course through her veins.

Now the new government is in power, everything has changed. But only if you're a woman. Almost overnight, bank accounts are frozen, passports are taken away and seventy million women lose their jobs. Even more terrifyingly, young girls are no longer taught to read or write.

For herself, her daughter, and for every woman silenced, Jean will reclaim her voice. This is only the beginning...

Never ever!!!

A little Update

Almost a month since me and my boy came back from our Japan trip.  Been busy filtering and clearing the travel images (total 5870 shots) the first two weeks, and then was pretty tight up with work.

Despite all that, we managed to watch Marvel's Avengers:The Endgame on a Monday, the fifth day after its preview.

The first model kit he finished was this huge HG 1/144 II NEO ZEONG.

The morning cloud of previous Sunday looked like an atomic explosion.

The clouds yesterday (also a Sunday) are quite dramatic as well.

18 May 2019 - On my way to National Service Resort & Country Club (NSRCC) at Changi Coast Walk to attend a wedding ceremony party. Glad to be able to meet up with my ex-colleagues and also friends there. It has been so long.

12 May 2019 - Dinner @Hoshino Coffee. Especially liked the hot Matcha Latte and fried dough cookies "Karintou".

19 May 2019 - Dinner @Fat Boy's.
What we ordered : Disco Fries, Bikini Bottom burger, Bleu Peppercorn burger, strawberry milk shake with banana and vanilla milk shake with peanut butter.  So full.

17 May 2019 - At last, I had a short visit to library@harbourfront before heading to work. Despite me passing by the underground of the shopping mall 5 times a week, I didn't go there since its official opening in Jan this year to avoid the overwhelming crowds. As expected, it has pretty much quiet down now.
