The covers of this new series of Science Fiction by Penguin are simply awesome.

Nineteen Eighty Four

This new cover of George Orwell's 1984 under Penguin Classics Anniversary Edition is pretty nice.

It comes with a type-heavy cover designed by Jon Gray at gray318. The front shows neither the title nor the author's name, but the three doublespeak slogans of the English Socialist Party (INGSOC) of Oceania,

WAR IS PEACE.
FREEDOM IS SLAVERY.
IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH.

The goal of the INGSOC is to achieve total control over the people and, more importantly, over their minds.


The back features hand-lettering of the repeated phrase “DOWN WITH BIG BROTHER”, referencing a page in the journal of Winston Smith, the story’s protagonist.

Recently bought this artbook from amazonjp for my boy. The hardcover slipcase is in full colour whereas the cover itself is in duotone which I really like.

Illumanatomy & Illuminature

Bought 3 picture books from Grassroots Bookroom last Sunday.

This book is breathtaking.  By viewing through the included three colours "magic viewing lens", you're able to see each major body system in the picture (red is skeletal, green is muscular and blue is circulatory and organs). The multicoloured pictures are already beautiful to look at without using the lens.
