Love the stories. After a taste of the first book 'The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo', I simply couldn't stop craving for the 2nd and 3rd books. So despite the same-old-nothing-new busy schedules, I managed to finish the last book this week.
The titles of the 2nd and 3rd books are The Girl Who Played with Fire and The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet's Nest respectively.
The narrator Lisbeth Salander is a young and skinny wierdo who has lots of tattoo over her body. In actual fact she is a world class computer hacker. She uses her computer skills as a means to earn a living, doing investigative work for Milton Security. She has an photographic memory, and is skillful at concealing her identity, possessing passports in different names and physical disguises that she uses to travel undetected around Sweden and worldwide. COOL!As for the plot, I wouldn't want to say much. Can find the details in wikipedia. Like the blurb at the back of the paperback, "Fans will not be disappointed: this is another roller-coaster ride that keeps you reading far too late into the night". Yes! I wholeheartedly agree.
Too bad the author Stieg Larsson, a journalist in Sweden, had died suddenly and unexpectedly in Nov 2004, soon after delivering the manuscripts for these three crime novels to his publisher. He did not live to see the phenomenon his work has become.
I may watch the film adaptations one fine day.
