To me, the main highlights of this year STGCC are those realistic, high quality collectible figures from Hot Toys. I came to know this Hong Kong-based production house through the series of ridiculously detailed Iron Man collectible figurines that I'd drooled for so many years. How I wish i have the mean and space to collect and display them. Mark VII, est. ship date by end of 1st quarter 2013, can be pre-ordered at the exhibition booth. OMG! Very nice.
As I reached the exhibition hall quite late, almost 5pm in the evening, I didn't have the chance to meet some of the artists I have already heard of. But I did got to know other up-coming artists and their works. ^_^
Artist : Tristan Eaton
Have bought this lovely print (edition 20/20) by NY-based artist Tristan Eaton.
Too bad, this Yoda print is not for sale.
Artist : Ng Shi Kian
Get an A2 laminated poster of this beautifully executed black & white painting. Superb.
Free gifts from him. Thanks.
postcard and sticker of Hell Lotus
I dunno if this special ed. middle finger pointing Hell Lotus is available for sale.
I'd also missed an old friend, more precisely ex-colleague from Singapore Press who is now a full-time comic artist. I didn't know there was a book launch till very late. His new book Ten Sticks And One Rice will be releasing this coming November. Congrats !!!
