Pipe Burst

2am in the morning, I heard a continuous water splashing sound.  At first I thought it was raining out there.  Got up from bed wanna close windows but didn't see any raindrop and realised that something wasn't right.  Followed the sound to the kitchen. Gosh! The whole floor was filled with water. Woke my mum while retrieving the pliers from then storeroom then rushed to turn off the god-damn tight valve under the basin.  Spent half and hour to soak up the water with towels and squeezed it into the bucket repeatedly and cleaned up.  Total 5 full buckets of water.  Alas! What an happening night.

Though I was glad that it never spilled over to the living room and I was around when such thing happened.  Imagine if only my mum was at home ..... first, she definitely won't hear it while sleeping in the aircon room.  Second, she didn't know what to do.  She wasn't even aware there is a valve down there. She was still in a daze till I took out the towels and buckets trying to clear the water.  Only then she snapped out from her daze. πŸ˜“ (Don't know what to say)

Called the plumber after 9am and the installation was done less than an hour.  It costed me $160 (stainless braided hose + valve for toilet's basin + labour).

This happened just after I finished reshuffling and painting my boy's bedroom.  Wasn't it a sign for me to do some work to the kitchen as well?
