I hate Cockroach
When I was a kid (10-12 years old), I was tasked with spring cleaning chore of the kitchen when my mum went out. There was a huge empty space under the old-fashion cooking stove made of cement bricks where she stored whatever cooking pots/pans and liked god-know-what forever. So me and my younger sister swept/wiped/scrapped clean the whole kitchen before going into the last tedious part .... to take out all the pots/pans one by one to clean the 'blackhole'. That was where it began. 😱😓
The moment I dragged out the first few big pots, oh Gosh, dozens of cockroaches zoomed out. I could not remember if I even screamed though. I know that we both jumped, ran around, looked for Baygon (I've forgotten the actual brand), sprayed sprayed sprayed, then poured hot water from the flask, but not much help. In the end, I 'attacked' them by splashing water with the water hose. Ah yeah, it worked. I could cleanse the insecticided pots/pans and the floor too, killed many birds with a stone.
The final scene I remember clearly is that I swept all their dead bodies to the drain outside the house and flushed them down with buckets of water. I did not actually count how many ..... It was a lot. I saw swamp of black. Since then, I hate cockroaches, I truly am. Call it 童年阴影.

OneDrive Problem
Don’t know if I should call it lucky or unlucky.
Encountered problem in uploading files to my 1TB OneDrive Personal AC on 19 Jul with red alert indicating that 69.7GB over limit of 5GB. Halo .... My usage was not even 10% of the storage space I subscribed.
After few emails with Microsoft Support, here were the situations :
1) The site indicated that I’d cancelled the subscription on 1 Jul which I never did. Who get the right to cancel it besides myself? I couldn’t renew it as well following the advise of the support staff.
2) My monthly billing through Apple Store was still in place. My latest bill was on 1 Jul with auto renewal on 28 Jul. Thus I couldn’t do any suggested renewal on my iPhone too.
3) My previous upload was on 13 Jul. No such problem at that time.

Yet they couldn’t rectify what’s going but asked me to go and contact Apple Support since the subscription was billed through them. What? It was obviously not simply billing issue here.
Fine. After having a good chat with the Apple Support staff, the only thing he could help was to cancel my existing subscription and do a refund, if any. As he put it, developers are responsible for the issue and I do agree.
In the end, I cancelled it from Apple Store and bought a new yearly subscription directly through Microsoft ..... now 1TB OneDrive Home ac. Definitely an upgrade with similar price and I can share it with 4 more family members, with 1TB storage each member.
Though I still want to know what’s going on. Waiting for Microsoft Support’s reply.
Very irritating especially one need to backup and transfer big files in a hurry.
As at 27 July 2018, instead of answering my question, the staff asked me to contact their billing dept. Gosh!
Carter Blake Triller Series
Presumed Dead by Mason Cross is the 5th and latest book of the series.
THEN
Adeline Connor was the Devil Mountain Killer's final victim. After she was gunned down, the murderer disappeared and the killing spree ended.
NOW
Carter Blake has been hired to do what he does best: to find someone. But this time he's hunting a dead girl - Adeline Connor's brother is convinced she's still alive.
But this town doesn't want an outsider digging up old business. And as Blake gets deeper into the case, it starts to become clear that the murders didn't just stop fifteen years ago.
At first, it seems that Adeline Connor was the reason why the killer stopped killing 15 years ago but started killing again when she re-appeared. only towards the end, you will find out that the real killer was someone else totally. Brilliant.

A guided tour to take a peep of part of the treasures of The Rare Gallery and Lee Kong Chian Reference Library.

Willis's Singapore Guide by A.C. Willis, 1936
In the book, the author mentioned that the popular food "Satay" is a Chinese dish. (pages 145-149)
"Satai" I am given to understand was introduced into this country by the Chinese, the word being spelt "Satae," meaning three pieces of meat. This dish soon found favour with the Javanese, and then the Malays and is also known by the name "Daging Bakar" (meaning-toasted meat.)
He meant "Satay" was derived from the Hokkien sa tae bak (三疊肉) . Interesting.

The theme for this particular exhibit is all about travelling around the 19th-early 20th century.
A trip around the world in the past costed about USD6600 plus, of which one could buy 6 houses with the sum.
Travel for leisure in that era was only for the rich.
We are fortunate enough to be able to travel on a much lower budget these days.

My New Ztylus
Have bought this new one for a while already.
I was using the Classic Revolver Camera Kit with gunmetal casing for more than a year and love it so much. But I guess it is time to make a change since as the coating is pretty scratched up.
This new one comes with macro lenses and quick magnetic attachment. It is also lighter in weight.
The macro shots (shown below) are pretty good.
Can't wait to test it out on my coming trip.
