Little Indulgence during HIP

Some new things after reno

Mum's Dirty Room

#趁她病要她命 #我的腰 #我的媽呀 #homeimprovementprogramme aka #hip

I still cannot understand how she can live in this condition …. there is a thick layer of dust on almost any surface that is capable of collecting it. She really never clean her room, besides sweeping the floor once every three days. So long long time ago I’ve made it a point to carry out a thorough cleaning at least once or twice in a year, especially on the day she was out.

My ‘unfortunate’ chance came during this week when my flat was going through hip renovation. It took me 3 full days to wipe clean the walls/floor/wardrobes/bookshelves/bed frame/sofa/TV bench/storage boxes/windows & frames/door (all surfaces that I could find), to arrange and pack her belongings. She has this bad habit to leave the tissues and cotton buds lying around after use, so no surprise there are lots of such rubbish underneath the bed/ sofa/cabinets. Another bad habit is she likes to keep things …. 1) Plastic/shopping bags here and there, slotted in between books, any gaps she can find 2) many shoe boxes & mooncake boxes with dunno what in them 3) few hundred pieces of A4 flyers and ring files from a winded up company I suppose (I also dunno how she got it 4)few hundred issues of 健康報 lying in 5 different corners wrapped with plastic bags (who the hell knows what are inside and I pretty sure she also has forgotten about it).

In the end, I’ve throw away 5 extra large black trash bags , recycle 3 extra large black trash bags, and used up 3+ packs of wipes. I wanna faint. Bear with me. I just wanna vent my frustration instead of going insane 😅

After tidy up.....
Before this, there're stack of boxes/containers in front of the wardrobe, blocking the doors. Another stack behind the sofa's back and the bookshelves. How to walk lile that?

Let's see how long will this 'clean' stage lasts this time.

HIP [ 10 Days - 30 Apr - 11 May ]

1st Day (30 Apr) - The hacking day

Besides laying a layer of plastic corrugated board and then a layer of rubber floor mat on the floor, the contractor also mounted up such anti-dust protection covers all over the place to reduce dust and noise.

The contractor had also installed a temporary pipe to the kitchen basin so we got water to use/wash things during these 10 days.

Me and my boy just stayed inside my room with the door close all day. In fact, the hacking and drilling noise wasn't that unbearable, we still could sleep and had a good nap in the afternoon. Didn't feel any shaking. A good sign to tell that the flat's structure is solid.

2nd Day (2 May)
New switches for water heater. The windows were also up.

3rd Day (3 May)
Non-shrink grout applied, Refuse chute hopper was replaced.

4th Day (4 May)
Applied 2 coats of water-proofing membrane and non-shrink ghout afterwards to protect the membranes.

5th Day (6 May)
Water test.

6th Day (7 May)
Wall plastering.

7th Day (8 May)
Wall tiling. Replaced of main entrance gate.

8th Day (9 May)
