The Beauty of Murder

Finally I have got myself finished the book by A.K. Benedict, with tremendous effort not to quit so easily.

I am not really sure what to take of this book, the plot mixing together murder, mystery and time travel is definitely a good idea, but somehow somewhere something is missing.  End of the day I don't get the beauty of the murders.

Besides the either pretentious or self-conscious characters, the dialogues are unrealistic and overblown.

At some points the main character, a junior lecturer at Cambridge named Stephen Killigan very irritating too! He makes decisions and irrational choices that just don’t seem to make sense within the plot line.  His relationships with the other characters, especially one of the suspect,  don’t feel convincing, rather funny I should say.

My favorite passage, anyway :
The windows are dark. Stained glass without light is a beautiful voice whose throat has been sliced.
