Cyanotype (Continue testing)

Ok. With the new batch of sensitizer (traditional Part A & B), I did get the right yellow/green coat. I kept them in the dark overnight.  As expected, the coat became darker green the next day.

Everything went well when I exposed them under the afternoon sun. I exposed them for 5-10mins till the highlights and midtones turned a green/blue, while the shadows look slightly solarized as how a proper exposed prints should be.

I even intentionally over-exposed some of them.

Upon developing first in water bath and then dropping the print into a weak bath of hydrogen peroxide as per usual, the blue did come out initially but turned foggy/pale gradually when dry. Why?! I also realised no matter how long I soaked them in the water bath, there was till this yellow stain especially in the highlight area.

I used Awagami Hakuho  (白鳳)  watercolor paper this round, and successfully printed some dense blue images during the workshop last week.

Both single coat. The mere difference was that the coating and exposing were done on the same day during the workshop. I am going to do exactly that and see how it goes.  Wanna test on other papers as well.

I suspect this is due to the strong absorbent of the paper. Somehow the sensitiser was being soaked up to the inner layers.

Also try out the sunprint kit I bought a few weeks ago.

Personally, the paper is thin and the color is light.  Just for fun.
