Shogo Makishima is the main antagonist of the first season of the anime series Psycho-Pass. He is a mysterious criminal who is unable to be detected by the Sibyl System. His desire is for everyone to be free of Sibyl, as he claims that it's making the human race into mere "sheep.", though this proves to be not as well-intentioned as it sounds.
Gu-sung Choe (최구성 Choe Gu-seong) is Shogo Makishima's friend and right-hand man. He is an expert hacker able to breach the security system of the Sibyl System's core and witness its true form.
S: This town is like a parody of ones in the novels I've read.
G: Like ..... the one by William Gibson?
S: More like Philip K.Dick, perhaps.
It's not as controlling as the society George Orwell depicted,
and it's not as what Gibson depicted.
G: I've never read Dick.
What book would you recommend I read first?
G: That's the original story of an old movie, right?
S: The content is quite different.
You should compare them when you have time someday.
G: I'll go ahead and download it.
S: Why don't you buy paper books? E-books lack character.
G: Is that right?
S: Book are not something that you just read characters in.
It's also a tool to adjust your senses.
When I'm not feeling well, there are times that I can't take in what I've read.
When that happens, I try to think about what could be hindering my reading.
There are books that I can take in smoothly even when I'm not feeling well.
I try to think why.
It might be something like mental tuning.
What's important when you tune is the feeling of the paper that you're touching with your fingers,
and the momentary stimulation your brain receives when you turn pages.
