Now the Rukam fruits are growing. A check online, the fruits are indeed edible - raw or cooked. Some other uses mentioned (I'm not sure though) :
- The immature fruit is rich in tannins and is used to prepare a traditional medicine to treat diarrhoea and dysentery.
- The juice of the leaves is applied to inflamed eye-lids.
- A root decoction is taken by women after childbirth.
