BooksActually 10th Anniversary

Since my first visit in 2007, I've been following this quiant little bookstore from Telok Ayer Street, Ann Siang Hill, its new store Polymath and Crust @ Club Street which was later combined into one, and now taking root at Tiong Bahru.

Started in 2005, BooksActually has been home to readers, local writers, artists, designers, and independent publishers. We have moved four times while amassing even more shelves for books and vintage bric-a-brac. For years, the bookstore has been a literary utopia for book lovers, hosting the most prolific Singaporean authors of our generation. Its achievements include being a full-fledged bookstore, a groundbreaking publishing-house, a refuge for readers, watering hole for writers, and home to three beautiful cats.
Still unpacking and preparing for official opening at 7pm
Vintage Clutches by French fashion designer Olympia-Le Tan

Thank You ❤️

As you start on your new venture
this brings a wish your way,
For many happy moments
to fill each coming day,
And as you face the future
that's waiting just for you,
May you soon discover
your dreams have all come true,

Medieval Bookbinding

This is my baby step to the ocean of Medieval Bookbinding techniques before I can do restoration on antiquarian books with leather.  Due to family matters, I need to slow down my learning quest a little bit for now, till the right time for me to plunge in full force.

Organised by Bryn Artisan Atelier @ Holland Village , the workshop was conducted by experienced local craftsman, 71-year old Mr Chong.

Tailor-made in Malaysia, sewing frame and book press are cleverly combined together into this compact form for use.
Thinking of DIY a piece myself.

My baby.  I have used different colour for the front and back cover. The leather, which was imported from Italy, is nice to the touch.

The paper used here are 100% Cotton Heavyweight paper. 10 signatures plus 2 endpapers in total.

The Place

Love to see and feel all the beautiful and colourful materials.
Of top of that, Biscuits and coffee were served during the workshop.  a set of IGGY's limited edition, handcrafted chocolates/macarons/jellys were offered as well.  Oh mind ...... Sweet!

Lucky Charms

Wanna thank my beloved colleagues for this beautiful farewell pressie.

I will be leaving the company this month to pursue my study and personal interests. Time does fly. Almost 6 years plus 9 months since then.  I have enjoyed working there and have learnt a great deal.

As the slogan of PANDORA :
Unforgettable Moments.

The girls really put in effort in selecting the respective beads.
From left to right,
Graduate Owl - A night owl like myself graduates from my study. A good charm indeed.
Red Murano Glass - The color red is the color of energy, passion and action.  Okey dokey, I got to admit, I am a hot-tempered person. RED!
I ❤️ Music - Yes. I am.  You may not agree with my taste.  I like to bombard myself with all kind of music, be it Anime, classical, Dance, Hip Hop, Asian Pop, Jazz, Latin, New Age, Pop, R&B, Rock ..... in various languages,  while working the shit out.  Musics really motivate me.  Sorry if it is too loud, at times almost unbearable.
Camera - I do love to take snapshots pretty often nowadays.
Night Out - A fun and flirty sterling silver cocktail glass charm representing my 'occasional' love of drinking.  Please don't mistake me as an alcoholic though. If there is coffee mug charm, I am pretty sure the girls will get me that.  I am more of a severe caffeine addict.

Thank you girls. ❤️
