10:35 - 10:49 The initial train was delayed due to breakdown.
10:50 - 11:39 The replaced train was abruptly terminated at the 1st stop - Reading station due to some problem on the track. A number of passengers came down unsure what next until we queued up at the information counter asking for assistance. We were then told to go to another platform to catch the next train going to Plymouth. Extra stops were added to its route last minutes, and passengers could only get
off the train at these extra stops through D carriage.
13:25 We nearly missed Castle Cary as there was no announcement when the train reached the station. Lucky my boy had turned on the Google Maps. From here, we either took a taxi (20-30 mins) or bus (90 mins) to reach Glastonbury Abbey which would close at 16:00. So obviously we couldn’t afford to
waste time.
The taxi fare costed me £45.
14:09 - 16:00 After spending almost 2 hrs wondering the beautiful place, my boy wanted to bring me to a restaurant of which he came to know about the chef thru a cooking competition on tv recently. Unfortunately, it only opened at 17:00, a tag too rush as we got a train to catch at 18:39. Too bad.
16:00 - 17:00 We had a quick meal nearby and meanwhile I tried to book a taxi but to no
avail. Without much option, we decided to take the bus route.
17:21 Following Google Maps, Bus 376 took us to Glaston House from Town Hall, then a short 4 mins walk to Strode College to wait for bus 667 which would brought us to Castle Cary at 18:24. When we reached the point on the map, we couldn’t find the bus stop. Asked the only
soul, a young chap we could find but to confirm that no bus stop there. We’re a bit lost and before we decided our subsequent plan, the mum who came fetching the young chap approached us and brought us to the Crispin Hall bus stations on the High Street. Despite her kindness, we still missed the last bus 667 at
17:40.
Attempted to hire cars through Uber also unsuccessful.
18:20 So we opted for another route which would take more than 3.5 hours, and would need to buy new train tickets (£82) from Bristol Temple Meads back to Paddington. Wasted the initial
return tickets of £78. 😭
23:30 We managed to get back to our service apartment before midnight. Heng Ah!

Despite the hiccups, this place really worth visiting. So lovely.

Glastonbury Abbey
This is the site of the legendary king of Britain, King Arthur's tomb. This plaice is meaningful to fans of anime Fates series. Too bad there is no Excalibur - the famed mythical sword of him.
